Notes from Virtual Meeting 9th May 2020

The Canon X Pro Mk 1 that I showed ( https://www.amazon.co.uk/Canon-X-Mark-Pro-Calculator/dp/B00CXQ3AXI) is no longer available new. However Canon have what looks to be a functionally equivalent model, the F-789SGA https://store.canon.co.uk/canon-f-789sga/6467B001/?nav=calculators%2Cscientificcalculators.

The machine is not nearly so stylish but arguably looks more practical to use day-to-day. I'm sure it still has the vast range of physical constants so an ideal Top Trumps model to own.

  • BTW, if you search for "Curta by the dozen" you'll see some findings of mine. As of some time last year, I have held and ever so slightly used a Curta, but still haven't owned one.

I found a trove of links to handheld computing websites which might be of interest, particularly Ledudu's pocket computers looked good.
